Butcher Blade - Title Page

Just some random story I dreamt up, literally in a dream. Except what I neglect to mention is that it was a dream about Gintama. It involved a rock paper scissors battle that somehow got laced with gags and finally ending off with the yorozuya leaping off to battle lead by Kagura who somehow got her hands on a bunch of crazy looking swords that had a logo on them that said "Butcher Blade." And more specifically, it ended with Shinpachi doing the tsukkomi and saying "Butcher Blade de nandesukaaaaa?!!!!" Something like that. It's not funny if you were there in the dream.

So I was bored in Bio and I thought, hmm....just what is Butcher Blade anyway....? In my dream I seemed satisfied thinking it was supposed to be a parody of some other anime/manga (witchblade?Blade of the Immortal?) Who knows. So this is what I came up with to answer my own questions.

Butcher Blade.

Our main protagonist, born as Renala Foxworthy, comes from a long prestigious line of artisans who specialize in the sectioning and refining of various meat products. As the oldest child of the family, it was her duty to succeed the previous Grand Master in their time honoured livelihood. The official coronation ceremony to seat the successor in the spot of Grand Master went down and Renala was given the family artifacts, the tools of the Grand Master, a cleaver and an apron to be specific. Now keep in mind that this all goes down in a future era, so the cleaver and apron are very hi-tech.

Usually now, the requirements for succeeding as Grand Master is that the candidate must wish from the bottom of their heart and be willing to dedicate their life to serving as an artisan of processing and sectioning meat. However, Renala wasn't up to that. She had done her best to be a dutiful daughter in order to succeed her father but her real dream was to become a cop and serve in the IP (intergalactic Police)- special relations unit.

Now, unfortunately, the traditional tools, the apron and cleaver were actually specially crafted tools with an innovative system called the BBS or the Butcher Blade System. What the BBS does is that it takes the determination of the user and upgrades itself into a form fitting the user. That's why generations of Foxworthys have always had the best tools. But, after so many generations of young successors who strove to become the best butcher, no I mean meat artisan, the function and name of the BBS was forgotten. So when Renala received the apron and cleaver from her father, she did not known of the BBS and she simply thought it would transform into the blood-retardant apron and ever-sharp cleaver her father had always used.

However, as we recall, her dream was not to become the greatest artisan of fine meats in the Galaxy and Beyond, but to become a cop....which means, when she donned the apron and held the cleaver, the BBS activated and upgraded itself accordingly. For her, the BBS remodelled itself to a bullet and blood proof aerodynamic oxygen permeable user controlled suit. Simillarly, the cleaver was modified into that huge thing. Now she was all geared up to fight evil and arrest pirates like she always wanted.

And that's what she decided to do. She drives a meat truck-ship and does business all around the Galaxy and Beyond and also cracks down hard on space pirates and smugglers striking fear in the hearts of such evil with the name Butcher Blade.

Now, a little bit about the bullet and blood proof aerodynamic...it's too long a name to say.....and cleaver blade. It's a user controlled suit, so there are various jack in ports that allow for various music players to be plugged in. More importantly, it is used in synchro with the blade, giving the user full control over an otherwise heavy and difficult to use blade. It also means that the blade can be retracted and stored within the waterproof container located on the dominant arm of the suit.

It was a which doodle which only took 3 hours to finish. It's tough drawing a picture while trying to hide it at the same time. And it still came out as crap. Well whatever, it's the story behind the picture that matters, right?

One more note on the various organizations....cuz I just thought of this. There's the ET Brigade, which is actually an intergalactic military force. Then there's the IP, the Intergalactic Police which are the law enforcers. Then there's the ULL, the Universal League of Lawyers which protects the rights of all universal citizens....The IP is divided into a lot of divisions. There's the usual ones that are posted in each planet. Then there's the ones for each solar system and then above that is the galaxy division. The special relations unit is a special task force designed to combat intergalactic pirates and smugglers. Not to be confused with the special forces unit which races around diffusing bombs and dealing with terrorists.
