Mushroom Season I

Amanita Muscaria

UBC is home to many many of these lovely hallucinogenic mushrooms. One particular street is lined with trees that have these mushrooms underneath them.

It's very easy to identify this fungi. They're usually bright red. They can be orange or even a pale pink. They've got little specks of white on them and have a volva at the base of the mushroom.

Do not attempt to eat them. They are poisonous. Apparently, it's also a psychoactive drug. According to certain textbooks, the psychoactive substances are not digested easily and are excreted in the urine which one can drink to get high a second or third time.
